I remember having had a hard time seeing The road , the film based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy , an author of fashion today. The story tells of the desperate struggle for survival of a father and his young son in a post apocalyptic world with no future whatsoever. At no time telling us what happened so that the world became a hell of a man into a wolf to man. Through flashbacks we know that the apocalypse just comes in the blink of an eye, and it is impossible not to think about a possible nuclear catastrophe. Then, we witness the devastating exodus living father and son. The nightmare that the Japanese are suffering today is not very different from this story, and I seriously question the use of nuclear energy and whether we are prepared to bear serious consequences in case of accident. The figures for Japan are scary.
